Had to re-attach the old non-HD player. Samsung should recall this unit and give us refunds. At 4 months, it would no longer play regular non-HD dvd's.
No software download or tweaking would fix these problems. Piece of junk. I see others have had same problems.
I too have been very disappointed with this blue-ray Samsung BD-P1500 player. And of course the warranty ran out at 3 months. Yes, I'm mad.
So much for up-converting. At 6 months it would no longer play any audio.
It took only a matter of minutes to hook it up to our 42" LG flat panel HDTV television. There are no faults at all from what I can see.
It was completely worth the money, which by the way, was a SUPER deal. I am very happy that we made this purchase.
I received my Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player in an extremely timely fashion from Amazon. The picture is so clear and the sound quality will blow you away.
I would recommend this player to anyone in the market searching for a reasonably priced high quality Blu-Ray player. The box was completely unharmed and the product was in perfect condition.
Since it's been hooked up, we have gone out and bought several Blu-Ray movies and all look AMAZING being played on our new player.
I cannot leave a movie or feature by hitting escape or menu key. So if you get a phone call during a movie - and you pause for awhile you have to restart and fast forward back to where you left off.
This was one of the cheapest players available and now I know why. It's very annoying.I would never buy a Samsung product again.
This is the first blue ray player I have owned and I must say it is a terrible disappointment. If the disk stops playing or the player is turned off or you pause the movie for any length of time it resets.
My chief complaints are.#1 Lag between audio receiver and television line - I have to turn off the volume on my Television otherwise and I get an "echo".#2 Menu function is often disabled.
I have to fast forward through the movie to the end of the feature and then let it end and return to menu so I can change the options.#3 There is no memory function at all.
At the price it's the best blu-ray deal on the net. Sets up and runs like a typical DVD player but the output is breathtaking. Seems very reliable and boot time is just slightly slower than a typical DVD player.
Superb price with free shipping can't beat this bargain at any retailer. No problems so far, Blu-ray Disc player compliments our HD Samsung Television in every way possible. Blu-ray picture is beyond HD and superior to anything I've ever seen.
