A recent firmware update seems to have fixed that problem though. The startup time is not bad at all but those things are always subjective.I have yet to get a BDLive enabled disc so I can't comment on its BDLive performance. I've had this player since Oct 2008 and have had no audio or video problems. The player performs well and movies look and sound great.I have the video going out via HDMI and the audio via Tosink optical.I initially could not get the player to work with my DHCP server (Linksys) and had to manually enter an IP address.
This really a great product. I have noticed some complaints about audio drops, slow loading, running hot and failure to play Blu-ray / DVD disc. I have not experienced any of these problems and have played both types of disc for a month and am very satisfied with both the audio and vidio quality of the Samsung 1500.
i would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonable priced bluray player. great picture quality has a HDMI port which i found very useful. looks very sleek and professional.
Prefer to use my ps3 but when I bought this for my father he loved it. This is a decent player.
Obviously, I tried different standard DVDs and wells several different blurays. Then playing blurays became a problem, with it freezing and skipping frames. Within 2 weeks, now it doesn't recognize ANY standard discs and still has problems with Blurays. I've never written a Amazon review yet but had to write about my disappointment with this player. Worked fine for a month, then started having intermittent problems with playing standard discs (not recognizing them).
